For over 500 years, colonialism, racial capitalism, and exploitation have extracted wealth and resources from BIPOC people and communitiesTLC is actively cultivating the spirit of abundance and is committed to help shift paradigms of scarcity that have been created by this reality. We are actively dismantling mindsets within ourselves and the community at large. We claim our generational wealth through our deep relationships, ancestral ways of being, rich cultural legacies, traditions of healing and spirituality – and our histories of creatively pooling collective resources, including money, to survive and thrive against the odds. In this reclaiming, we also believe in resourcing our communities through reparations, land back, and wealth redistribution to achieve justice, healing, and the end of the racial wealth gap.

One of our core wealth reclamation initiatives is supporting a local, collective economy of BIPOC-owned and values-aligned businesses. TLC’s goal is to spend 100% of our resources on BIPOC – which extends to all of the businesses and vendors we partner with – while organizing others in our sphere of influence to do the same. To support this aim, TLC is proud to be a founding partner of the collaborative effort of ShopBIPOC.com, a platform dedicated to promoting and supporting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) entrepreneurs in Colorado.

Buying from BIPOC-owned businesses is a direct and tangible way to align our everyday actions as consumers with our commitments to racial equity and closing the racial wealth gap. We are encouraging all of us to change our spending habits to make a difference in our local communities.
